Jack Raymond joined the Red Arch team in 2008 as a Principal Database Engineer. Over the years, his role expanded into a Principal Engineer position, and now he finds himself as a Lead Systems Engineer / Tech Lead / Task Lead more often than a Database Engineer. After 9 years, his favorite thing about working at Red Arch Solutions is the steadfast support he receives from the HQ team.
Jack has put in serious effort to earn several wow-worthy professional certifications, including CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCAH (Cloudera Certified Administrator for Hadoop), and Oracle Database Master. Last summer, Jack became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect while he was between assignments. While all of his certifications required many hours of study and practice to obtain, Jack feels his AWS and CISSP certifications are currently the biggest benefit to his career since they’re in vogue.
One of Jack’s hobbies is motorsports. He’s completed a number of cars over the years: 1996 Corvette Grand Sport, 1992 Miata, 2015 Subaru WRX, 2011 John Cooper Works MINI. He’s won 6 autocross championships over the years with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and BMW Club! Jack would tell you “One of my favorite aspects of motorsports is coaching, so as to share my experience, enthusiasm, and love of the sport with other drivers. My plan is to continue as long as I’m still able to drive a car!”
Jack will be representing Red Arch Solutions at the AWS re:Invent conference this November. Thanks for being a great member of the team, Jack!
